It is here, at the old train depot in Northport, where Slash Pine interns and DePaul students read pieces about movement, static and active. This is why we exchange with other undergraduate writers: exchanging evokes fresh inspiration. Exchanging creates a community of writers beyond the confines the stuffy classroom. Poetry is not just for academia; it is meant to move beyond walls of instruction – to transform from words on a page to words in space – moving and moving and moving.
words moving like tongues moving like trains
